Which allocated memory units do I have to free manually; which are freed by calls to the OSS API functions?

The general rule is: Any memory that you allocate yourself, you have to also free yourself. On the other hand, if you let an OSS API function allocate memory for you, you can call one of the provided OSS API memory deallocating functions (e.g., ossFreeBuf() and ossFreePDU()) to free up the memory. This general rule applies to both the encoder and decoder output buffers.
