Is there a way to check for the tag of the PDU? I see that in the some of the generated files, there is a function: public TypeInfo getTypeInfo(). Can you give me information on this method?

Refer to the "ASN.1 Tools for Java — Reference Manual" for the description of metadata classes. TypeInfo is defined in com.oss.metadata. You can use getTypeInfo().getTags(), which returns a com.oss.metadata.Tags object.

This class has two public methods called:

int count(); // returns the number of tags in the array

and

short getTag(int i); // returns the value of the tag at the i-th index of the array, where i=0 or greater.

Each tag is a short that has two high-order bits which contain the class and the remaining (14) bits which contain the tag number. You can find the following table in x.690 (Table 1 in the clause 8.1.2.2) with the two high-order bits representing the tag class: 0 0 - UNIVERSAL 0 1 - APPPLICATION 1 0 - context specific 1 1 - PRIVATE

You should be able to tell by the first tag which of your PDUs is the one which was decoded.
