LTE UE Protocol Stack
The OSS LTE UE protocol stack is a 3GPP Release 8 compliant implementation of the
LTE protocol stack for User Equipment (UE). The implementation consists of Layer 2,
Layer 3, and NAS (Non-Access Stratum). Layer 2 consists of an implementation of the
PDCP, RLC, and MAC protocols. Layer 3 consists of an implementation of the RRC protocol
layer. NAS supports communication with the MME and provides mobility and session management.
The stack is optimized for the memory, power, and performance requirements of user devices,
including embedded devices. The underlying OSS ASN.1/C encoder/decoder is currently ported
to more than 250 platforms giving us the expertise and framework to easily port our LTE
UE stack solution to any platform.
The design of the LTE UE stack enables your rapid entry into the competitive
LTE market. This stack can be easily integrated with your existing Physical Layer,
and can augment existing stack solutions enabling you to quickly deploy new or upgraded solutions.
