The OSS Fast Infoset (FI) Tools minimize the overhead associated with using XML making it possible to use non-schema-based XML messages in resource-constrained and/or bandwidth-constrained environments. Our tools are fully conformant to the Fast Infoset standard (ITU-T X.891 (2005) | ISO/IEC 24824-1: 2005 Information Technology - Generic Applications of ASN.1: Fast Infoset); the standard was developed to address XML optimization by specifying a standardized binary representation for the XML Information Set. Exchange Fast Infoset and/or standard XML messages in your C/C++ applications, all with a single tool.

The OSS FWS Tools create and process highly efficient binary (PER-encoded) SOAP messages, allowing applications to provide Web services using messages that require less network bandwidth and less processing power than character-based XML encodings. Traditional XML SOAP messages are also supported ensuring your ability to exchange SOAP messages with XML based peers. The OSS FWS Compiler takes a WSL 1.1 service description as input, and generates language-specific representations and control information files. Runtime libraries provide functions for writing efficient Web Services applications in C/C++ or Java.

The OSS XSD Tools bind your XML schema to C/C++ representations. Runtime libraries provide fast encoding of values of these representations into highly compact binary encoding or XML. Standard proven binary encoding rules enable you to achieve faster speeds and rates of compaction than commonly used compression algorithms. Decoders provide validation of incoming XML documents and fast transformation of those documents into values of the C/C++ or Java representations. The OSS XSD Tools adhere to the W3C XML Schema standard. See for yourself how you can achieve fast, compact XML through a single tool.
