Enhancements History

NOTE: These products are sold by technology (5G or LTE/EPC) and major 3GPP release (14, 15, 16, or 17). Therefore, enhancements that are listed in one product section on this page may not apply to products in other sections.

NAS-1Step for 5G

5G NAS 3GPP Release 17

version 9.0.0 for NAS 3GPP release 17.10.1
  • Support for 5G NAS release 17.10.1 has been added.

5G NAS 3GPP release 16

version 8.4.0 for 5G NAS 3GPP release 16.12.0
  • NAS-1Step now supports encoding/decoding of the EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) messages embedded within the 5G NAS messages. The implementation conforms to the formats specified in RFC 4187 (Extensible Authentication Protocol Method for 3rd Generation - Authentication and Key Agreement) and RFC 5448 (Improved Extensible Authentication Protocol Method for 3rd Generation - Authentication and Key Agreement).
  • The OSS product installers now support unattended silent installation. NAS-1Step requires the location of the ossinfo file at installation. The command to install NAS-1Step in silent unattended mode would be as follows:
         <installer name> -s -v/qn -v"OSSINFO=\"<path to ossinfo file>\""
    where
<installer name> is the name of the installer executable.
<path to ossinfo file> is the fully qualified path to the location of the ossinfo file.
In unattended silent installation mode, the installers will print no messages when successful. On error, a popup that indicates what error occurred is displayed.
version 8.3.4 for 5G NAS 3GPP release 16.8.0
  • The details of a UE policy management message delivered in a Registration request message's Payload container IE is made available by changing the representation of this IE from PayloadContainerContents (opaque ossOctetString) to UEPolicyManagementMessage.
version 8.3.2 for 5G NAS 3GPP release 16.8.0
  • For some of the QoS rule operations, table 9.11.4.13.1 (Chapter 9.11.4.13) in TS 24.501 specifies the presence or absence of the QoS rule precedence and QoS flow identifier fields. For other operations, the standard does not explicitly specify whether these fields are absent or present.
In this version of OSS 5G NAS-1Step, the QoS rule precedence and QoS flow identifier fields are optional. Previously, unless the standard indicated otherwise, these fields were treated as mandatory.
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the application to make sure that when the optional segregationAndQFI field is present in a NAS message passed to ossNASEncode(), the antecedent optional qosRulePrecedence field is also present.
