What's New in NAS/Java 5G r16.12.0 v3.3.0

Enhancements

  • The OSS NAS/Java 5G Tools now supports encoding/decoding of the EAP (Extensible Authentication Protocol) messages embedded within the 5G NAS messages. The implementation conforms to the formats specified in RFC 4187 (Extensible Authentication Protocol Method for 3rd Generation - Authentication and Key Agreement) and RFC 5448 (Improved Extensible Authentication Protocol Method for 3rd Generation - Authentication and Key Agreement).

Improvements

  • The OSS NAS/Java 5G Tools will no longer incorrectly display values of the typeOfCipheringAlgorithm and typeOfIntegrityProtectionAlgorithm fields in the text output when the 'useSymbolicNames' coder option is enabled.

This documentation applies to the OSS NAS Tools for Java for 5G v3.3.0 for 3GPP Release 16.12.0.
