What should I do if the ASN.1/C compiler output cannot be c++-compiled?

Make sure that you are ASN.1/C compiling with the -c++ option. This should be specified on the ASN.1 compiler command line. If you have done that then make sure the resulting output to be compiled as C++ source has a file extension of .cpp, not .c.

This can be done by either renaming the generated .c file to a .cpp file manually or by specifying the -cont name.cpp option if using the SOED, or the -code name.cpp if using the TOED, or use an appropriate C++ compiler option (if available) to force C++ compilation even though the extension is not .cpp. In VC++ this is the /TP option. For more information, see the description of the -soedFile and -toedFile compiler options.
