Is it possible to extend Information Object Sets in RANAP, RNSAP, NBAP, etc.?

It is possible to modify the RANAP, RNSAP, NBAP and other similar protocols without breaking the standard (no changes for existing encoded PDU on the wire) by adding new information objects to the existing extensible information object sets.

These new information objects would include new types for carrying the OpenType values. The new types added would then be possible to automatically encode/decode at run time.

The samples included with some of the Knowledge Center answers are meant for your general understanding of the OSS products. Different versions of the products might produce slightly different outputs. Consult the products documentation and samples for the most up-to-date products information and code examples.
