What do I have to do to specify that I want to use GeneralizedTime?

As long as you declared the type in question as a GeneralizedTime type in your ASN.1 specification, you don't have to do anything special, since the encoder will know from the control table or code file which type is intended. You just have to make sure that the values you provide conform to the requirements of the GeneralizedTime type (such as the condition of the year containing four digits).
